Figure Drawing
I've been reading a really old book on figure drawing, originally published in 1904, though this reprint is a modern copy from 1965.
It's got some interesting observations in it, like the coffin shape at the back of the triceps. Unfortunately, there is the occasional turn-of-phrase which jars a bit in 2026: e.g. "The closed eye suits the wizen and pettifogging housewife." Luckily we've moved on.
Anyway it's nice to read something pre Loomis and Reilly and scary to think it was written 122 years ago.
